Jeweler - Repair Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Jeweler specializing in repair work to join our team. As a full-time Jeweler - Repair Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our business by providing expert repair services for jewelry items. This position does not involve creative design work; instead, it focuses primarily on repairing, refurbishing, and restoring various types of jewelry.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and diagnose jewelry items to identify repair requirements accurately.

  • Perform various jewelry repair tasks such as resizing rings, replacing missing stones, soldering, re-tipping assessment, restringing pearls, and other related repairs.

  • Clean, polish, and restore jewelry pieces to their original condition or as specified by the customer.

  • Utilize appropriate tools, equipment, and techniques to ensure high-quality repairs.

  • Inspect completed repairs to ensure they meet our quality standards and customer expectations.

  • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their repair needs and provide accurate cost estimates and timelines.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper handling and storage of tools and equipment.

  • Stay updated on current jewelry repair techniques and industry trends.

  • Collaborate with other team members and provide support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Jeweler specializing in repair work, with a minimum of [X] years of relevant experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of various jewelry repair techniques, including ring resizing, stone setting, soldering, and pearl restringing.

  • Proficiency in working with a wide range of jewelry materials, including precious metals, gemstones, and pearls.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality workmanship.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • Ability to use and maintain jewelry repair tools and equipment.

  • Familiarity with jewelry industry standards, best practices, and safety protocols.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing repair priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Jewelry repair certification or relevant formal training.

  • Experience using jewelry-specific software or inventory management systems.
